Bob Marley Earthday Reggae Music Festival and Rasta Fair

Saturday 11th February, 7am, by Free Haine

The Meditators in partnership with uShaka Marine World once again hosted this event at Wahooz on the Promenade on 5th February 2012.  It was a beautiful sunshiny day and having Soweto Tv with Ras Sipho MC made the whole day extraordinary...and we had the best turnout ever...estimated crowd of more than 1000, with a bigger rasta-fair and more bands participating in 2012. The first performance was by Rasta Rhythms from Kwa Ximba valley, followed by So'Jah from Pietermaritzburg and Rastas At Work from Durban.  Also performing was Storm from Port Shepstone, Tuff Masters from Amanzimtoti and The Undivided Roots from Pietermaritzburg.

Follow Jah from Empangeni gave a powerful and moving performance in between sets.

Special guests Tshepi and Poppy Seed(UK) performed with The Meditators and brought the show to an end with the grand finale of guest artists singing Onelove in tribute to the memory of the life and music of Bob Marley.

To all friends and supporters who were there it was an experience of a life time, to be cherished and remembered with lov'!

Big Up to Wonder Boy(backstage manager) Jah Seed(MC) Ricci Haine(Sound Recording engineer)The Meditators, Bongoshine(videographer) Coolfire(dj) , Ras Sipho Mantula from Soweto TV and Aubrey, the cameraman from Soweto tv, we love you guys! The event was successful because of a beeeg team effort. Thanks also to uShaka Marine World for believing in this event and The Meditators and providing a platform for celebrating international and local reggae. Big Up!
